1. In a solar pool heating system, the existing pool filtration system pumps pool water through the solar collector.
2. The collected heat is transferred directly to the pool water, therefore, no operating costs are incurred.
Solar pool heating triples the swimming season by increasing the pool temperature up to 15 degrees warmer than an unheated pool, from the end of February until the end of November. The months from December-February are not consistent with this type of heating because days are much shorter and cold fronts are more frequent.
